Do You Get Heartburn Or Indigestion From Rice? Here’s Some Suggestions! Ep108

I recently did the video Can White Rice Be Part Of A Healthy Diet, Ep107, and some people posted questions about rice and heartburn. I actually have a few suggestion for those that get heartburn or acid reflux after eating rice or meals that have rice. Sometimes it’s the type of rice that causes the issues, other times it might be what you are eating rice with and/or at what time of day. In today’s video I go through all my suggestions including the one rice I feel is the easiest to digest, and which types of rice to stay away from!

  5. My theory is that it is a bacterial growth that feeds on rice and irritates the stomach causing GERD. It happens with white rice and not necessarily wholegrain or rice that is difficult to digest or breakdown. For me, I think it started from habitually eating leftover rice – even rice that had been refrigerated properly after cooking. Maybe because the bacteria has had more of a chance to multiply but not enough to make one sick from food poisoning.
I stopped eating rice and started on a good probiotic and my GERD symptoms have completely disappeared.
